Unique Custom Text Tutorial

uniquetext06
Are you bored of the standard library of fonts that your computers has or the thousands of fonts on the Internet that don’t quite give you the effect that you are looking for. Well, this tutorial will helpfully solve this problem. This tutorial will show you how to design, from scratch, some of the most wackiest styles of text you can imagine. The outcome will only be limited by your imagination.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Open a new document in Photoshop. Preferablly, the canvas should be 500×500 pixels in order to provide you with a sufficient amount of of room to work with.

2. First off, create a new layer and name it “Letter”.

3. Now select the Rectangular Marquee Tool and draw a good sized rectangular selection in the center of your canvas.

4. Fill in the selection with any color you choose.

5. Now from the main menu at the top, goto Filter > Liquify.

6. When the Liquify pop-up box appears, select a brush from the options on the right. With one of these brushes selected, begin pushing and manipulating the box into whatever style of letter that you want.

7. In this tutorial, I decided to create the letter “G”. Once you are pleased with the letter, click OK to return to your canvas.

8. Last step. Give the letter some extra flair by using the “Blending Properties” from right clicking the layer with the letter on it. In the example below, I gave it bevel and shadow attributes.

9. Repeat all the steps above to make more unique letters in order to spell something. This technique is also great for designing logos.
